Feel better faster

EMDR Intensives for Women

Focused EMDR trauma therapy designed for meaningful progress — without months of weekly sessions, in Grand Island and across Nebraska via telehealth.

Deeper Work. Real Momentum. Less Waiting.

Focused EMDR trauma therapy designed for meaningful progress — without months of weekly sessions.

EMDR Intensive Therapy is a powerful way to accelerate the healing that you would experience in a typical EMDR session.

Rather than going to therapy for an hour session once a week, you would set aside a specific chunk of time - 3 hours up to 3 days - for intensive therapeutic work.

EMDR Intensives can help:

Anxiety + Overwhelm

Shift from constant edge, tight chest, racing thoughts, and overreacting to triggers → to grounded, steady, and regulated.

Relationships

Stop reacting from old wounds in conflict → respond with clarity instead of shutdown, defensiveness, or overwhelm.

Birth and Medical Trauma

Move from replaying what happened and bracing for the next life event → to feeling calm, prepared, and confident in your body again.

Self Doubt

Release the deep “I’m not enough” belief driving over performance → experience self-trust, self-worth, and internal steadiness.

Past Trauma

Take memories from highly emotional and activating → to neutral, integrated, and no longer running the show.

What is an EMDR Intensive?

  • EMDR Intensive Therapy is a powerful way to accelerate the healing that you would experience in a typical EMDR session.

Rather than going to therapy for an hour session once a week, you would set aside a specific chunk of time - 3 hours or 3 days - for intensive therapeutic work.

It is a concentrated way to get the power of EMDR without having time in between sessions. It helps people journey deeper and feel better faster.

  • Before your intensive, we meet for a Pre-Intensive Interview to clarify your goals and assess where you are right now — your stressors, support system, coping patterns, and where you’re craving relief or growth.

During the intensive, we focus on two things:

    1. Helping the painful parts of your story hurt less

    2. Strengthening the positive parts of you so they feel even stronger

We use EMDR reprocessing along with resourcing practices like guided meditation and body based exercises — all incorporating bilateral stimulation to support your brain’s natural healing process.

For some women, we explore early attachment experiences. For others, the work is more future-focused. Every intensive is deeply personalized to you.

Afterward, we meet for a Post-Intensive Integration Session to reflect on what shifted and how to carry that momentum forward. I also encourage sharing insights with trusted people in your life so they can support and celebrate your growth.

Please see EMDR Intensive Packages for more information on rates for these premium therapy services.

  • EMDR Intensives are not about reliving trauma over and over instead they help you stop reliving the pain and start living fully again.

    • Reduce the emotional charge of traumatic memories so triggers no longer control your reactions.

    • Calm the nervous system, so stress, overwhelm, and anxiety feel more manageable.

    • Transform old patterns of reactivity into intentional responses — in relationships, parenting, and daily life.

    • Strengthen your confidence, clarity, and ability to trust yourself.

    • Reconnect to joy, pleasure, and safety in your body and mind.

In short, you leave feeling lighter, steadier, and more like yourself — without having to relive the past repeatedly.

FAQs

Have questions about what it’s like to work together? Check out these frequently asked questions. If you don’t see your question here, click here to get in touch.

    • You want to experience deep therapeutic work that can change your life

    • You had a very painful experience that is still impacting you today

    • You have done EMDR before and found it helpful for your healing and wellbeing

    • You want to prepare yourself mentally and emotionally for a big life event like a wedding, becoming a parent, a medical procedure, starting a new job, or moving to a new city

    • You already go to weekly therapy and you feel stuck or on the verge of a break through.

  • EMDR is a scientifically proven therapy that helps the brain process trauma and stress safely and effectively. It’s recognized by leading mental health organizations for treating anxiety, PTSD, birth trauma, and other difficult experiences.

    You’re In Control

EMDR is not hypnosis, magic, or anything “out of your control.” You remain fully aware and active throughout the process. Think of it as guided processing — your mind and body are in charge, and I’m there to support you every step of the way.

  • In person at my office in Grand Island or online throughout Nebraska.

EMDR intensive sessions are similar to going on a personal retreat. It’s best to allow time outside of sessions to be unscheduled or filled only with self-care activities like exercise, body work (acupuncture or massage), and creative expression – drawing, painting, cooking.

  • These are premium therapy services.

Due to the nature and timeframe of EMDR Intensives, insurance is not billed for EMDR Intensives. Clients will pay the out of pocket rate for EMDR intensive work.

I recommend calling the customer service number on the back of your insurance card in order to get details about your specific plan and if they will reimburse you for these services.

Please know that the insurance company requires a diagnosis code as a reason for treatment.

  • EMDR Intensives give you the results you would get from months of therapy in a much shorter period of time. If you add up the cost of weekly therapy, an EMDR Intensive is actually more cost effective. Instead of waiting months, you can get the same results in a few days.

  • Absolutely not.

Our EMDR work is temporary and focused. Think of it as a short-term layer of support designed to help you process specific memories or patterns that feel stuck.

You can absolutely continue seeing your regular therapist while we work together. In fact, EMDR often works beautifully in conjunction with ongoing therapy. Your therapist can support you with day-to-day life, integration, and continued growth while we focus on targeted trauma processing.

With your permission, I’m also happy to collaborate so your care feels cohesive and supportive.

The goal isn’t to replace your therapist —it’s to help you move through something specific so you can keep growing.

You’re used to showing up fully in every area of your life — your healing deserves that same level of intention. EMDR Intensives are designed for women and couples who are ready to move through trauma in a focused, supported, and efficient way — without stretching the work over months of weekly sessions. If you’re ready for meaningful, forward movement, schedule your consultation to begin.
